How to add emergency contact info on the BlackBerry KEY2 & KEY2 LE

You aren't always going to be conscious in an emergency. It's not a pleasant thought, but there it is. The best you can do to prepare for such a scenario is to make sure that, if it becomes necessary, first responders know your identity, your needs, and who to call on your behalf.

Believe it or not, your BlackBerry can help with that. Like most Android devices, the BlackBerry KEY2 and BlackBerry KEY2 LE allow you to add emergency information to your device's lock screen. This includes medical history, allergies, blood type, address, and a list of emergency contacts. Here's how you can set all that up.

How to add emergency contact info on the BlackBerry KEY2 & KEY2 LE
  • Open your device Settings, and tap on Users & Accounts
  • Tap on Emergency Information
  • Tap on Edit Information. Fill out whatever you think is relevant.
  • Tap on Add Contact. Choose an existing contact, or create a new one. You can do this as many times as you wish.

That's it! Your smartphone will now display emergency information and emergency contact info on the lock screen. To access it, tap on Emergency Information.
